Certification
Folder Administration: Herbert Hamele (DestiNet Executive Body)
There are more than 60 certificates for "environmentally friendly" or "sustainable" tourism services, destinations and tour operators all over the world: many of them operate on national level, others are available world wide or only in a small region. Altogether they may have certified about 15.000 accommodation services, restaurants, beaches, marinas, visitor attractions and activities, destinations or travel packages. A set of Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria has been developed to harmonize regional and national certificates in the global market place.
Search for "certification" to find the ecolabels or management certificates which are available in your country or for your tourism business. See the list of all certificates on The DestiNet Atlas.
The requirements of a "Sustainable Tourism Certificate" shall comply with the global sustainable management, social and economic, cultural and environmental criteria.
